Plant the stake and create objectives and a plan for success in 2010
A leader’s role in any organization is to plant the stake and set the ultimate objectives for success. Then it comes down to rallying the troops to follow you there.
As Jack Daly, professional sales coach, puts it, only the leader can set the ultimate objective. Want to:
- Grow your sales by 10%?
- Remodel your operations?
- Hire some new staff to help you grow your business?
- Make changes in your current staff?
- Reduce waste?
- Grow profits by 25%?
Whatever it is that you feel your company should, or needs to go after, it is ultimately you as the leader who has to make the final decision and set those targets.
Once the stake has been planted, then you have to set out the plan (alone or with some or all your staff), and figure out exactly how you are going to get there. Then you’re into the planning and execution process.
So what are you going to take on in 2010?
