Confidence & Enthusiasm are Contagious and It Starts With a Leader

two thumbs up

Is your team confident and enthusiastic about your company’s future? If not, maybe the problem isn’t them, maybe it’s you!

As the leader of a company, it is imperative that you conduct yourself in such a way that demonstrates confidence and enthusiasm toward your company’s future direction. Especially in today’s economic environment when many small businesses are struggling, it is vitally important that you instill confidence and enthusiasm in your team.

To help you, here are a four tricks for you to consider.

  1. Always have a clear vision & plan. Communicate the plan with your team, and stick to it your strategy. Whether it’s navigating through a difficult period, growing sales, expanding into a new product line or growing your client list, make sure you have a clear plan and include your team in on it.
  2. Always have your game face on. If you can’t have your game face on, leave the store or office. Don’t let your team see you deflated. It’s okay to open up a little and show that you’re human, however they look to you as their leader and you must stand tall in the face of adversity.
  3. Remember to always share your enthusiasm. When was the last time you hugged one of your employees? Smile with a friendly greeting every day. Joke around with your staff. Ask about their personal life. Above all, be enthusiastic about the future and relay that enthusiasm to your staff.
  4. Communicate, communicate, communicate. You should always be communicating with your team. Especially if you are going through a challenging time, it is more important than ever to communicate regularly.

So remember, have a clear vision, stay focused, come to work with your game face, demonstrate enthusiasm and always remember to communicate. People need leaders in their lives. Maybe that leader could be you.

“Great leaders display a set of unique values which motivate and attract others. They are driven by an inner voice and conviction fueled by integrity and vision. We have learned that focusing on specific principles in one area has been the key to developing great leaders.” – Mahatma Gandhi
