Some retailers do help customers if manufacturers won’t

When shopping for appliances, look for warranty coverage longer than one year. Use a credit card that extends the manufacturer’s warranty. You can find information at the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada’s website, www.fcac.gc.ca, Credit Cards and You. Finally, find a retailer that will go to bat for you when the manufacturer says no.
